A motorist in Toronto was caught driving in an HOV lane with two mannequins he had added to make it appear his car met the occupancy minimum.

Sitting in traffic is no fun, and drivers have long been devising ways to cut their trips shorter.

One motorist in Toronto took advantage of the city’s temporary HOV lanes to get to his destination a little faster. 

He placed two fully dressed mannequins in his car, hoping to make it appear that he qualified for the vehicle occupancy minimum of three people that's required for its use. 

Though he paid attention to detail, accessorizing the dummies with baseball caps, his creations weren’t quite lifelike enough. 

Police did not fall for the ruse, and
