As Cuba and the United States take steps to normalize relations, former Chief of U.S. Interests Section in Cuba Wayne Smith has spoken out against his country’s long-time foreign policy. Smith said that for decades U.S. leaders were “delusional” in thinking that the Caribbean Island would fail under the economic pressures imposed by the U.S., which was condemned in the United Nations every year for its embargo. “We were the ones made to look foolish and isolated and out of touch, not Cuba,” he said. teleSUR
