What a peaceful scene. A Himalayan Birch forest above a meadow with porters sitting around and enjoying the camp fire, a Bhotia mastiff having attached himself to the group for the duration of the expedition, a group of cows crossing a bridge over the Jallandhi Garh torrent, and the meadows above the camp leading into the snows above, and the scree and rocky ridges above the tree line.

One can see the striations of the ocean sediment, displaying how uplift brought about the creation of the Himalaya, in the exposed rock layers of the Gangotri metamorphic forms that are similar to the glacial Late Quaternary Morpho-Sedimentary processes that one can see in the Gangotri Glacier's morphology.
