US State Department's country report on counter terrorism in Pakistan, 2014 has been discussed. Pakistan has registered a downward trend in terror attacks since the commencement of Military Operation "Zarb-e-Azb" in June 2014. Attack by Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan on Army Public School Peshawar rallied support for the military operation. Modi's attempt to get UN sanctions imposed on Pakistan for the release of Mumbai Attack's suspect was vetoed by China. Pakistan is seeking the arrest and trial of Lt. Col. Srikant Prasad Prohit for his role in the Samjhota Express Carnage in which 59 Pakistanis were burnt alive but India has paid no heed, instead it continues to press for action against Mumbai Attack suspects without presenting tangible or culpable evidence.
