Police forces in the United States have been under fire after multiple incidents involving excessive use of force and racial profiling, as well as the criminalization of protests. On Monday morning a class action lawsuit was settled in the Washington DC District Court that guarantees the rights of activists to express their beliefs without law enforcement repercussions and limits the force that can be used by police in demonstrations.
