Thousands protested in the streets of Tegucigalpa on Friday against the U.S. backed government of Juan Orlando Hernandez. This is the second mass demonstration since local media revealed that US$350 million had been embezzled from the national Social Security Institute, with some of the money going to the ruling National Party for its electoral campaign.
