Out of what has been stated above: unhealthy lifestyle, unhealthy food and repetitive exposure to loud music, there are more causes for tinnitus which are physical trauma, ear infections, irritants and excessive ear wax, just to name a few. My tinnitus has been caused by ear infections that indirectly caused an excessive ear wax.

It is important to know the cause of your tinnitus so you don't get the wrong treatment; other causes of your hearing problem that might be misunderstood with tinnitus are inner ear problem, sinus problem and brain problem. Of course if the cause of your hearing problem is brain related illness, then taking medication for tinnitus will not help you at all.
