GTA ONLINE CREATORS BETA NOW LIVE (Escapist News Now)

Starting today you can log in to Grand Theft Auto Online and start using the new Deathmatch and Race Creators Beta. The update gives players access to some of the same tools the team at Rockstar used while designing the game.

First you need to be a Social Club member. Once you're signed up you'll be able to make custom races and matches in 5 modes: Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Race, GTA Race, and Rally Race. You can access the Creator from the pause menu where you'll get a tutorial before diving in.

For head-to-head shoot outs you can put your Deathmatch anywhere in Los Santos or Blaine County. You can create spawn points, choose specific weapons, and even vehicle classes. You'll also be able to place ramps and containers around the area of your match to provide cover.

For races you'll be able to create land, sea, and air races, but you'll need to publish a land race first. You can customize the number of racers, vehicle class, checkpoints, and more. You can also add stunt jumps or create obstacles.

Once you finish creating your custom race or deathmatch you'll test it against AI to make sure it is functional. Rockstar staff will be periodically reviewing community created content and if they are super awesome, they'll get Rockstar Verified.
