NO MAN'S SKY: SCI-FI EXPLORATION (Escapist News Now)

No Man's Sky will focus on interplanetary exploration, space combat, and resource gathering. Creative Director David Ream told Polygon, "We want the future to be cool again." The universe in the game will have star-systems and individual planets to explore, each created procedurally. Once a planet is discovered by a player, they will exist in the universe for everyone.

The universe will be consistent for all players, allowing you to share as much or as little of your exploration as you like. When you are on the ground, you'll be able to walk to any mountain you see and climb it. If you look up and see a planet, you'll be able to get in your ship and fly there seamlessly.

Players will start at the outer perimeter of the universe and will need to fight their way towards the center. Ream also said, "As a child I would look at the sky at night and all the stars and I would want to visit them...That's the feeling I got later, when I would read books from the golden ago of sci-fi, from the 60s and the 70s, and that's what we want to do with No Man's Sky."

While Hello Games did not specify release dates or platforms, they did mention next-gen. Saying that while other developers have done great things with next-gen graphically, they are more interested in creating next-gen gameplay.
