Welcome to the Wilderness Orchard and botanical gardens in the Uttarakhand Himalaya, with our March 2015 spring-time display of Daffodils and narcissus, flower bed edging of Muscari or grape hyacinth, gone-wild garden escape bearded blue Iris growing atop a cliff-face, and wild Viola biflora or Violets growing in the Himalaya. Also, see wild Saxifrage or Bergenia ciliata growing along rock faces on our estate. In Sanskrit, this plant is known as 'shilphara' or one that can crack open rocks, due to its roots that penetrate deep within a rock, to derive nutrition and moisture.

Hear the Black-capped or Rufous Sibia calling in the background, in this spring-time profusion.
