The Japan Disaster Relief Team from Tokyo, comprising 35 medical experts, was deployed to Nepal on Apr 29. It is focusing its energy on relief efforts around the capital, including the Thundikhlel camp, which at its peak temporarily housed about 11,000 people.
The major areas of concerns for patients are bruises, cuts, dehydration and malnutrition. The team said it does not have sufficient anti-bacterial medication and requested more be flown from Japan to assist their operations.
