Cow dung cakes are used to fire up the boiler of an industrial unit in India - trust this to happen only in India! Imagine an industrial process that actually gets fuelled by cow poo!?

Maharshi Dayanand Gosamwardhan Kendra has more than 800 cows in a 12 acre land in Ghazipur on Delhi-UP border. It is not for profit organization, dedicated to developing and maintaining Indian breeds of cows. It has a hydroponics plant for producing fodder and practices natural breeding of cows. Cows are fed an optimal mix of green fodder. It produces high yield of milk even as it follows natural practices only. Various experiments have been carried out on this farm and the learnings have been incorporated over past 15 years when it has grown from 10 cows to about 800 today. It produces more than 500 ltr of milk per day. It also manufactures dairy products like butter, ghee, chachh and curd, etc.
