Members of Ecuador’s ruling party and thousands of supporters turned out to welcome President Rafael Correa home from the EU-CELAC Summit in Brussels. Legislator María José Carrión said that the transformation of wealth and condemned right-wing media propaganda as well as the violent tactics used now going on in Ecuador has given hope to millions. On Sunday, opposition leaders had called for a Black Sunday action in which a caravan waving black flags unsuccessfully attempted to block President Correa´s return at the airport. They held a rally outside the headquarters of the ruling party demanding a change of government. Correa supporters, on the other hand say that they believe in the redistribution at last week’s opposition protests. Liz Scherffius reports from Quito for teleSUR.
