Panama Canal Revamped to Handle Larger Ships

Engineers have begun to flood a newly enlarged portion of the Panama Canal that will allow larger ships to use the waterway. The work that began in 2006 will allow the canal to handle vessels with twice the capacity. This latest expansion has been dogged by costly overruns and delays. teleSUR
