Two explosions targeted a rally for the Kurdish Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) in Diyarbakir, situated in southern Turkey, on June 5, killing at least two people. According to reports, ball bearing and nails from the explosive device were discovered near the site of the blasts. This video appears to show police using a water cannon to disperse activists from the scene.
It wasn’t immediately clear what had caused the blasts at the pro-Kurdish People’s Democratic Party rally, however Turkey’s energy minister ruled out claims of an accident, Turkish media reported. Credit: YouTube/Mutlu Civiroglu
