Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro charged that those responsible for the assassination of National Assembly member Robert Serra have ties to former Colombian president Alvaro Uribe. Serra was a young legislator from the United Socialist Party of Venezuela who was killed in October 2014. Maduro's comments follow the extradition to Venezuela of Leiver Padilla one of the masterminds behind Serra's assassination. According to Maduro, Julio Velez, a politician in the Colombian border city of Cucuta and right-hand man of Uribe, is also suspected of being involved in the killing. teleSUR
