Over the next month HIV-AIDS testing will be carried on in the Caribbean as a way of tackling the virus in the heavily affected region. The Caribbean Broadcast Media Partnership on HIV AIDS is bringing together 112 top broadcasters from 24 countries in the region’s first coordinated media response to the pandemic. The program was launched in Saint Lucia on Friday. Members of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) have signed a document agreeing to work together to access HIV-AIDS funds for the highest risk population. The document also details the plans and policies of each country concerning the care and treatment of people living with HIV-AIDS. Officials expect that the project will help care and funding reach those who need them most. Alison Kentish reports from Saint Lucia for teleSUR.
