University students in Honduras are becoming increasingly vocal and demanding their participation in decisions on educational policy. Students charge that the state is under-funding university education, prioritizing military spending. They also complain that student elections have not been held for 11 years and that it is the authorities who chose the students' representatives. Actions are planned for next week and it is expected that they will be joined by middle school students, who also feel their right to a quality education is under threat.
