MANILA - The Philippine National Police has no operational aircraft after one of its choppers crashed in Kalinga last June.

Director General Alan Purisima said two of the PNP's Robinson R44 Raven 1 helicopters are grounded due to a pending case before the Ombudsman. The secondhand choppers, which were allegedly owned by former First Gentleman Mike Arroyo, were purchased by PNP as brand new in 2009.
