Pope (now Saint) John Paul II last visited the Philippines in January 1995 for the 10th World Youth Day in Manila.

Millions of young people from all over the world amassed in Luneta Park to witness the pope lead mass.

Reporting for ABS-CBN's TV Patrol, Katherine De Castro talked to pilgrims who spent hours just for a glance of the pontiff.
