Oh no…we didn’t see this coming, did we? It is Varun Dhawan, and not Salman Khan, who will play the lead role in Karan Johar’s Shuddhi.

Wait…we aren’t spreading any rumors, in fact, Salman himself took to Twitter saying that Varun has replaced him. The Dabangg Khan, along with the childhood picture of Varun Dhawan, tweeted, Kamaal karte ho Varun Dhawan…made ur dad n me so proud of u… happy Shhuddhi”.

Varun took no time and replied to Salman’s tweet, saying: “Thank you Bhai @BeingSalmanKhan I promise to make you proud #shuddhi”.

After Student of the Year (2012) and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014), Shuddhi will be the third movie together for Varun and Alia.

Salman, who just finished shooting for Bajrangi Bhaijaan in Kashmir, is out on bail after being convicted in a hit-and-run case. We wonder has the conviction anything to do with this replacement! Wink!
