Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Silkworm for the NES developed by Tecmo and published by Sammy. If two are better than one, Silkworm is one of the greatest shoot ‘em ups ever. Originally released to arcades, this multiplayer-focused shooter allows players to choose between a helicopter and a Jeep, each of which is filled to the roof with bullets. During single-player sessions, you can play as either vehicle, but the game is at its best when both are on the screen during multiplayer. You may think of the SEGA Genesis when you think “shoot ‘em ups,” but Silkworm makes an argument for the NES, too. In fact, it makes two.
