The Shiv Sena mouthpiece 'Saamna' on Wednesday (May 20) criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for extending the $1 billion credit line to Mongolia to aid the country's economic development. "People in Mongolia are luckier than the ones in Maharashtra, they got $1 billion. Maharashtra's suicidal farmers are still waiting for help," it said. "While helping smaller nations is our foreign policy, this help should continue but the PM should help the dying farmers of Maharashtra and aid those affected by the Jaitapur project," the publication added. These comments come at a time when Maharashtra has witnessed an agrarian crisis, drought situation and farmers have committed suicide due to their inability to repay loans.
