A 28-year-old man was arrested on Monday night in northern Italy for the second time on charges of stalking and threatening his ex-girlfriend.
According to Italian newspapers La Tribuna di Treviso and Il Corriere della Sera, Tullio Tuffoli started following and harassing his former girlfriend after she broke up with him.
On April 2 around 1 am, Tuffoli followed her to the house of a man he suspected she was romantically involved with. Tuffoli then drove her car through the house's living room window while the couple was sleeping. The crash woke the couple up and they saw Tuffoli running away.
Three days later, Tuffoli was arrested for slashing the tires of a car belonging to a friend of his former girlfriend.
Soon after being released, Tuffoli visited his ex-girlfriend's house in the middle of the night, armed with a cutlass and sledgehammer. He called her on the phone and shouted at her that they needed to talk. She called the police and Tuffoli was arrested for a second time.
Tuffoli is now set to face trial on charges of harassment, resisting arrest and possession of an illegal weapon.
