A midair plane collision left one person dead and three with minor injuries in southern California. The incident occurred Monday when two Cessna 172 planes crossed flight paths shortly after 2:00 p.m.
The two planes made contact midair, sending one crashing into a rocky ridge and the other towards Westlake Golf Course. Witnesses said they saw a low-flying plane clip a tree, causing it to gently crash land onto the fairground at the golf course. The three individuals inside the four-seat Cessna 172 Skyhawk were able to walk away with only minor injuries.

The pilot of the other plane was not as lucky, his dead body was found among the burning wreckage. Firefighters were able to find the second plane after its collision sparked a small wildfire in Calabasas.
