Tram crash: Two trams collide in Gothenburg, Sweden, injuring eight

Two trams collided at a tram intersection in Sweden's second largest city on Thursday morning, injuring eight people, according to Sweden's The Local. The collision happened in central Gothenburg occurring between two trams on route one and five of city's network.

As the trams approached the Avenyn/Vasagatan crossing, the route five tram smashed into the side of the route one tram. Both trams were derailed. It remains unclear which driver was at fault, according to local reports. The accident caused a serious traffic build-up in the centre of the city.
