Surat: Seven years back, Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) started the construction work of affordable homes for Economically Weaker Section (EWS). Later, it came to light that the EWS houses were built on a private land of a farmer. The farmer dragged the case to the court following which the construction work came to a halt. Now, the SMC has come under the cloud. Was it a mistake of SMC or corruption? is still a big question.
