Rajya Sabha has been rocked by the scandal on Narendra Modi's chief negotiator, Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari over his alleged role in a loan given to Purti - a firm controlled by Gadkari's family. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley came out to defend his senior Cabinet Minister Nitin Gadkari in the Parliament session. After half a dozen adjournments, the debate in the Upper House created a protest against Gadkari's clarifications. With the Modi Government looking to soon to celebrate its first year in office, the scandal could take some sheen off the government's celebrations. Here’s a report.
