A classy male Jets fan punched a female Pats fan in the face after New York stole a victory away from New England in Sunday's game.
An unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on a missed Nick Folk 56-yard field goal gave the Jets a second chance against the Patriots. After the penalty, the 56-yard attempt became a much closer 42-yard attempt. Folk was able to get the second kick through the posts to give the Jets the overtime win.
The flag was thrown at Patriots defensive tackle Chris Jones for pushing another Patriots player into Folk as he attempted his first kick. This was the first time the new rule was enforced. Rule 9, Section 1, Article 3, subsection (b) (2) penalizes a player for pushing from the second level of the defense.
Patriots coach Bill Belichick attempted to argue the flag, saying that the refs applied it incorrectly, but it didn't do any good.
As fans tried to leave MetLife Stadium on Sunday, a fan brawl started in the stands with two girls fighting. A video was posted to Deadspin.com that showed what happened after. The fight then moved to one of the exit gates.
A Jets fan wearing a Wayne Chrebet jersey with camouflage pants is shown in the video getting pulled from a bunch of fighting fans. A female Pats fan then comes over and punches the Chrebet jersey fan in the face, while another male Pats fan pushes him away. Another female Pats fan is seen coming over and pushing the Jets fan which causes the Jets fan to punch her full on in the head.
Way to keep it classy New York.
