Changing the Flow of Design
Yang Jae-hyuk, the creative director of the furniture brand UMZIKIM, is in the

world's spotlight thanks to his innovative ideas. With a major in aeronautical

engineering, Yang pays attention to the over-looked parts of designs from an

engineer's point of view. For instance, he incorporates some engineering

principles into a business card holder to maximize convenience for the users

and calculates the gravity and centroid of a book to find the right grade for

his book holder. Yang hopes to enrich people's lives with his designs, and all

eyes are on Yang in anticipation to see if he can shake up the realm of

furniture with his engineering approach.
