A Corgi is being hailed as a hero after the dog saved its owner's life by waking him during a house fire yesterday morning in Hong Kong.

Twenty-two-year-old Lenka was asleep alone in his apartment in the Kwai Chung district (葵湧) when his home caught fire. Luckily, his dog was there to save his life. Lenka remains in hospital in critical condition.

Firefighters suggested that the fire was caused by electrical cords shorting out.
