The focus of the investigation into the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 has now turned to the pilots as evidence suggests that the plane's tracking systems were switched off purposely and the plane was deliberately flown off-course by someone with flight experience.

Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah, a father of three and a grandfather joined Malaysian Airlines in 1981.

His relatives and friends have produced a video, declaring him as a man "well loved by many", to defend him from public suspicion.

However, the Mirror reported that the captain's wife and three children moved out of the family's home in a luxury gated community in the suburbs of Kuala Lumpur the day before the plane's disappearance.

It was also revealed that Shah built a Boeing 777 flight simulator by himself. In a YouTube video made by Captain Shah to teach people how to save electricity, he is seen sitting in front of the flight simulator inside his home. The simulator was confiscated by authorities during a raid on Saturday.
