A 20-year-old California man, Dakkari McAnuff, has been arrested and charged with making criminal threats after he posted on his Twitter account that he would shoot someone if he got 100 retweets, according to the New York Daily News. McAnuff posted a photo with the tweet, showing a rifle pointed toward a street in Los Angeles.

The message, "100 RT's and I'll shoot someone walking," was posted to the account linked to the Twitter handle @StillDMC, which has since been taken down.

"I'm gonna laugh so hard if these 100 RTs get you locked up," one person responded.

Archived tweets show McAnuff's original post was followed by another showing a man laying in the street with what looks like blood on his chest. The accompanying tweet said, ""Man Down. Mission Completed."

Someone soon brought McAnuff's posting to the police's attention, who tracked his Twitter account to his location on 9th street in downtown Los Angeles.

Officers confiscated his weapon, and discovered that it was actually an air rifle. There was no indication that McAnuff had actually hurt anyone.

McAnuff is being held on $50,000 bail.
