A British submarine with advanced underwater search capabilities has now joined the search for missing Malaysian Airlines flight 370.
The UK's HMS Tireless is an 85 meter-long, nuclear-powered submarine capable of deepsea searches.
The sub has a crew of 130 sailors and 18 officers.
HMS Tireless operates at depths of 400 meters but can descend to a maximum of 600 meters.
The sub uses half a dozen types of sonar as well as radar devices that could allow it to find any wreckage that may be on the seabed.
The sub has now arrived in the Indian Ocean and will begin scanning for any signs of Malaysian Airlines flight 370 or the plane's 'black box'.
The hunt could take time, however, as Australian authorities say the search area now extends over 254,000 square kilometers.
The HMS Tireless will soon be aided by the Royal Navy coastal survey ship, HMS Echo, and it's hoped these two sophisticated vessels will help finally locate the missing jetliner.
