A tragic car crash in Houston, Texas killed Elida Zolorzano, a 23-year-old mother of three. Onlookers decided to loot her newly bought groceries instead of rescuing her wounded sons.

Before the accident, Zolorzano had proudly attended, along with her eldest son, the graduation ceremony of her four-year-old son on Thursday.

After the ceremony, the young mother dropped a friend off and headed for a supermarket.

Zolorzano put her groceries in the front seat of her car and her two boys were buckled up in the back. She, however, wasn't wearing a seatbelt herself.

Police say Zolorzano's car was travelling at a high speed. When her vehicle was clipped by a Mercedes, she lost control and crashed into a tree.

Witnesses say several bystanders stole groceries from the crashed vehicle. Police said they may press charges against the thieves, but so far have yet to track down the suspects.
