A Kansas City, Missouri man has been taken off life support after he was hit by a car and dragged two blocks following a fight two weeks ago with two cyclists, according to a KCTV5 report.

Derek Mael, 27, and his friend were driving, when through the car window two cyclists allegedly picked a fight with them.

The cyclists then followed Mael's vehicle. He stuck his head out the window and one of them slapped his face, causing a glasses lense to pop out.

Mael got out of the car to look for the lense, and one of the cyclists came up and reportedly punched him to the ground.

A truck drove toward the scene, didn't see Mael, hit him, and then dragged his body for two blocks without realizing what had happened.

Brandon Phillips was driving to his late shift job, saw Mael's body left in the road and was the first one to call 911.

He then waited with Mael until paramedics arrived.

No charges are being laid against the driver who hit Mael, and the cyclists are still at large, described as "hippie-like".
