A group of theme park enthusiasts got way more than their money's worth last Tuesday when a pendulum-style ride in Didam, in the Netherlands broke down and left them dangling upside-down for 45 minutes.

Theme park staff scrambled to fix the ride and called firefighters to come to the rescue.

According to local newspaper De Gelderlander, no injuries were reported, though some riders experienced discomfort due to being suspended upside-down for almost an hour.

Fortunately, the safety harnesses did their job well. Just this month, there was a similar incident in China where a pendulum ride critically injured five people and flung two others to their deaths due to negligence on the part of amusement park staff.
