Future reservists will be chosen by a lottery carried out In Lithuania
The call to serve in the army was abolished in Lithuania in 2008 and restored in March of this year. It will start again on 11th of May. With the help of a computer lottery will draw up lists of possible recruits. This sistem was chosen, because there are a lot more people of the military age than a number of those, who will be going to take a nine-month term service. The call will last for 5 years, during which it is planned to prepare about 16 thousand of future reservists. It will be also the way to complete the set of the State units, which are presently only half completed.
