Bolivia's claim against Chile for access to the sea filed before the International Court of Justice in The Hague entered its fifth and final day of deliberations this Friday. The landlocked country lost its coastal territory to Chile in the 1879-1883 War of the Pacific. Bolivia's long-standing demand for sovereign access to the sea has been rejected by Chile, which has backtracked from previous commitments in this regard and now insists that La Paz respect the 1904 peace treaty that codified the currently existing borders. teleSUR
