Stephen Colbert has helped fund every grant request made on DonorsChoose by teachers at South Carolina public schools.

Stephen Colbert will help fund every grant request made on DonorsChoose by teachers at South Carolina public schools.

All told, they amount to around 800 thousand dollars.

The appeals involve about a thousand projects at over 375 schools.

Items being asked for range from library books to sports equipment. 

There are also funding requests for trips, art programs, and skill building initiatives. 

Colbert made the announcement that there was money on the way for all of them via a live feed
