Honduran social movements and left-wing organizations joined forces Wednesday to form a new united political alliance that will compete in the 2017 elections. Candidates from the labor and peasant movements, among others, will participate with the Libre Party in the new left electoral bloc, which seeks to change the composition of the country's Congress, considered by many to represent the interests of big business and large landowners.
