As it enters its third week, the Colombian teachers strike appears to be coming to an end. The Ministry of Education announced that authorities had reached a preliminary agreement with the Colombian Teachers Union for a 12% salary increase as offered by the government. However, there has been no official confirmation and the union will meet later today to vote on suspending the strike.
