We start at Korea's National Assembly where a bill to overhaul the pension system for public servants will be put to a vote this afternoon,... wrapping up several months of negotiations between lawmakers from the two main rival parties.
If everything goes smoothly and the bill is passed,... public servants will be required to pay more in premiums while they work,... but receive less in payouts after they retire.
Lawmakers predict the new system will save the government more than 300 billion U.S. dollars over the next 70 years.
The public-servant pension program ended last year with an annual deficit of eleven billion dollars.
