The Argentine congress formed a new joint commission to analyze and investigate the origin of the country's debt as accrued during the 1976-1983 military dictatorship to date. The commission, composed of senators and congressional deputies, will also investigate the debt renegotiation conducted since the restoration of democracy, including swaps, defaults, and reductions, the evolution of the country's liabilities, their current status, and the role of vulture funds.
