Mexico: Red Alert Lifted After New Spate of Drug-related Violence

A Red Alert was lifted in the western state of Jalisco on Sunday after two days of violence attributed to one or more drug cartels. At least 19 people were killed in shootouts, primarily federal agents. A Mexican Army helicopter was shot down, killing three soldiers on board and injuring 12 others. Violence was also reported in neighboring states, and three soldiers are still missing as the Army widens its search. teleSUR
