The Colombian Supreme Court sentenced the former head of the country's intelligence service, Maria del Pilar Hurtado, to 14 years in prison for illegal phone tapping in 2007 and 2008 and abuse of authority. Another former government official, Fernando Moreno, legal aid to then president Alvaro Uribe, currently a senator, was sentenced to eight years of house arrest. Politicians, activists, lawyers, and judges were victims of the illegal government espionage ordered by the top Uribe aides. Natalia Margarita reports from Bogota. teleSUR
