A 13-year-old girl died and her mother suffered serious injuries when they jumped off a moving bus in Punjab's Moga district to avoid being sexually assaulted by the bus conductor's assistant. Police officials said the assistant bus conductor started sexually assaulting the woman in a largely empty bus. On complaining, the conductor sided with his assistant and even the bus driver refused to stop the vehicle.
