He had thick skin — maybe too thick for clothing?
Tulsa police had to use a Taser on a naked man not once, but twice, until he could finally be taken into custody after being spotted walking in his birthday suit down a major highway.
A passerby shot video of the bizarre scene as the 24-year-old James Jackson walked in broad daylight down the street Sunday. Motorists called to him but Jackson continues on his path and is later seen jumping on cars while on a bridge in the video given to TV Station FOX 23.
Tulsa Public Information Officer Leland Ashley told the Daily News he stopped traffic on the well-traveled road during the incident.
Officers arrived at the scene but Jackson did not follow their commands.
The video shows the suspect being zapped with a Taser as he dropped the street, but it did not subdue him. He removes the wires from his torso and is later seen running away from the road with officers chasing after him.
They finally caught up to him and zapped him a second time. That finally allowed officers to apprehend him.
Having to use a Taser twice is rare but not unheard of, Ashley said.
"It depends, some people it does not affect," he said. "When someone is on drugs it does not have the same effect (on the suspect)."
Jackson did not say why he was walking around without clothes but Ashley said he may have been having a mental episode or was under the influence of drugs.
The naked suspect was charged with indecent exposure, obstructing justice and burglary because he allegedly had tried to knock down a door of a woman earlier that day. He did not enter the home, Ashley said.
