DENVER - Denver Police arrested two men early Monday after a short vehicle pursuit. Police said the men tried running over an Auraria campus police officer after they were caught trespassing on the campus.

The men then aimed their car at the officer and tried running him over, according to Denver Police.

Denver Police caught up to the fleeing suspects at 8th Avenue and Decatur Street, and tried to make a traffic stop.

The suspects did not yield and sped away from officers.

After a short pursuit, the suspects crashed into a wall at the intersection of 8th Avenue and Wyandot Street.

Police said the driver in the car yelled that he had a gun and began reaching into his coat pocket. Officers shot him with a less-lethal foam pellet gun. The man then began running from police and they used a Taser to subdue him. Police said they did not find a gun.

Police said they suspect the driver of the car was under the influence of alcohol.

No police officers were hurt during the incident.

Both suspects sustained minor injuries.
