UN officials in Bogota urged that in the Colombian peace talks currently underway in Havana both the government and the rebels quickly move toward an agreement and set a deadline to successfully conclude the negotiations. UN Deputy High Commissioner for Human Rights Flavia Pansieri added that any peace agreement must take social justice and the rights of the victims of the five-decade armed conflict into account. Meanwhile, Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos vowed to continue the peace talks despite pressure from conservative sectrors that want an end to the negotiations. teleSUR
